CARMEN CHOYA FOCES, PhD
Postdoctoral Fellow
Carmen received her PhD from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Her thesis research investigated the role of the mitochondrial sodium/calcium exchanger upon hypoxia.
Carmen joined the Elrod Lab in September 2024 and is currently investigating the calcium-controlled mitochondrial metabolism through MICU proteins.
